Blackenbrook is a family-operated New Zealand vineyard and maker of fine wines from the sunny Tasman region of New Zealand. Blackenbrook was started by Swiss-born medical chemist and microbiologist Daniel Schwarzenbach. He left his career in the fields of science and medicine to follow his passion for wines and winemaking. He has learnt from some of Europe’s foremost experts in wine making before returning to New Zealand to implement his new knowledge and skills. Blackenbrook follows the simple philosophy of going back to basics in order to create its range of stunning wines. They carefully supervise, soften and simplify the entire vineyard-to-bottle process to capture the natural flavours of the grapes with as little interference as possible.
