Penfolds red wine presnts the Koonunga Hill collection, known for value, quality and consistency
Penfolds Wine was established 150 years ago and continues to strive for affordable yet quality made wine. They are incedently well known for fine red wine as you will find out with this warn shiraz.
Koonugnga Hill showcases PenfoldÕs wine making style and philosophy. Since the brands vintage of 1976 this shiraz has enjoyed widespread acclaim and is now one of AustraliaÕs favourite names in premium red wine.
This wine is a multi-district blend from several furit vinyards in South Australia including Mclaren Vale in the Barossa Valley and more. This drop has a plump style with red-berried fruits and generous flavour of relaxed tannins. Great structure and length but will gain depth over the next 2-4 years.

VINEYARD REGION:
Selected form premium vineyards throughout South Australia. Large components are sourced from Coonawarra, Barossa Valley and Padthaway.
VINTAGE CONDITIONS 2006;
Was a relatively early vintage, with low rainfall and warm weather contributing to early budburst and flowering. Mild to warm weather throughout summer helped the fruit to mature at an even rate, while rains at harvest refreshed ground moisture without creating any disease concerns.
MATURATION:
A portion of this wine was aged for ten months in seasoned French and American oak hogsheads.

COLOUR:ÊDense red with purple hues.
NOSE:ÊThe nose shows dark fruit aromas of plum and cherry with a fresh red berry lift. Floral notes,
hints of spice, white chocolate and vanillin notes add complexity.

A medium bodied wine with flavours of Madeira cake, pudding and blueberries with spice, pepper
and hints of liquorice adding complexity. A rich, ripe and generous wine with voluptuous full
