Louie The Tui is a fantastically illustrated book that tells the story of a Tui, a passerine New Zealand bird, named Louie who learns to sing with help from his friend. He and Granny Annie, who plays the guitar, draws crowds of children who gather around to hear them play.

Janet Martin is a New Zealand children’s author from the city of Rotorua. She is known for writing rhyming stories that feature some of New Zealand’s native birds as main characters.
