Sanitarium was the brainchild of Edward Halsey, who came to New Zealand in December of 1900. He was a Seventh-day Adventist who trained at the famous Battle Creek Sanitarium in Michigan, United States. In the 19th century, Battle Creek Sanitarium was the place to go amongst notables to heal and recuperate. It was famous around the world for its emphasis on healing through healthy nutrition and exercise. Since its founding, Edward Halsey has taken the lessons and skills he learned from this renowned institution to establish the love Sanitarium brand in New Zealand. With its long history and focus on healthy nutrition, Sanitarium is well known for its iconic Kiwi products such as Weet-Bix and Marmite. To this day, Sanitarium continues to produce products that support the potential of individuals to lead healthier and better life through good nutrition.
